This Account & Data Deletion Policy explains how customers may request account closure, correction, or deletion of eligible personal information held by VIBE THEORY ENTERPRISE (“Vibe Theory,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) through https://vibetheory.africa/.
This policy applies to customers in Ghana, Nigeria, and other locations where applicable privacy laws provide relevant data rights.
1. Account Deletion
Where customer accounts are available, you may request closure of your VIBETHEORY.AFRICA account.
Closing an account does not necessarily mean that every record connected with the account can be deleted immediately.
Certain information may need to remain on record for legitimate or legally required purposes.
2. How to Request Account Deletion
To request account closure, contact:
support@vibetheory.africa
or
info@vibetheory.africa
Your request should include enough information for us to identify the relevant account.
Do not send passwords, PINs, CVV codes, or other sensitive authentication credentials by email.
3. Identity Verification
Before completing a deletion or data-rights request, we may take reasonable steps to confirm the identity of the requester.
Verification helps prevent:
- Unauthorized account deletion
- Identity fraud
- Improper access to personal information
- Malicious requests
We will aim to request only information reasonably necessary for verification.
4. Personal Data Deletion
Customers may request deletion of eligible personal information where permitted by applicable law.
Depending on the circumstances, this may include:
- Account profile information
- Saved preferences
- Marketing information
- Certain customer-support records
- Other personal data no longer required
Deletion rights may be subject to legal exceptions.
5. Information We May Retain
Some information may need to be retained after an account is closed.
This may include records required for:
- Completed orders
- Payments and refunds
- Tax and accounting
- Fraud prevention
- Legal disputes
- Regulatory compliance
- Security investigations
- Consumer-protection obligations
Such information should not be retained longer than reasonably necessary for the applicable purpose.
6. Order and Transaction Records
Deleting an account does not automatically erase records of completed purchases.
Order and transaction information may need to remain available to:
- Maintain financial records
- Verify previous purchases
- Process eligible refunds
- Resolve disputes
- Prevent fraud
- Meet legal obligations
7. Payment Information
Payment transactions may be processed by third-party payment providers.
Vibe Theory does not intentionally store full card numbers, CVV/security codes, banking passwords, or PINs.
Deletion of information independently controlled by a payment provider may be governed by that provider’s own privacy practices and legal obligations.
8. Pending Orders
If an account deletion request is submitted while an order is still active, certain information may need to remain available until the transaction is appropriately completed.
This may include information required for:
- Processing
- Delivery
- Returns
- Refunds
- Customer support
9. Marketing Data
Customers may request to stop receiving promotional communications without deleting their entire account.
Where applicable, customers may:
- Use an unsubscribe option
- Change available preferences
- Contact Vibe Theory directly
Limited information may be retained to ensure an opt-out preference continues to be respected.
10. Cookies and Browser Data
Deleting a Vibe Theory account does not automatically remove cookies stored on a customer’s device.
Cookies may usually be removed through:
- Browser settings
- Available cookie controls
- Device settings
Further information is available in our Cookie Policy.
11. Correcting Personal Information
Customers may request correction of inaccurate personal information associated with their account.
This may include:
- Name
- Email address
- Delivery information
- Account details
Certain historical transaction records may need to remain unchanged where alteration would conflict with legal or accounting requirements.
12. Restricting Data Use
Where applicable law provides such a right, customers may request restriction of certain processing.
A restriction request may be considered where:
- Data accuracy is disputed
- Processing is challenged
- Information is required for a legal claim
- Another applicable legal condition exists
13. Withdrawal of Consent
Where personal information is processed based on consent, customers may withdraw that consent where permitted.
Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before consent was withdrawn.
Information may continue to be processed where another valid legal basis applies.
14. Data Portability
Where applicable law provides a right to data portability, eligible customers may request certain information in a structured and commonly used format.
This right applies only where the relevant legal requirements are satisfied.
15. Reviews and User Content
Account deletion may not automatically remove every review, rating, or other contribution previously submitted.
Where appropriate, customers may request deletion or anonymization of eligible user content.
We may retain content where legally permitted or necessary for legitimate purposes.
16. When Deletion May Be Limited
We may refuse or limit a deletion request where information must lawfully be retained for reasons such as:
- Tax requirements
- Accounting obligations
- Fraud prevention
- Legal claims
- Regulatory compliance
- Security
- Establishment or defence of legal rights
Where appropriate, we may explain why certain information cannot be deleted.
17. Backup Systems
Deleted information may remain temporarily within secure backup systems until it is deleted or overwritten through normal backup procedures.
Backup information should not be restored for ordinary business use once a valid deletion request has been completed, except where necessary for security, recovery, or legal purposes.
18. Ghana Data Rights
For customers in Ghana, data-related requests may be subject to the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) and other applicable requirements.
Eligible individuals may exercise rights available under Ghanaian data-protection law.
19. Nigeria Data Rights
For customers in Nigeria, relevant rights may arise under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
Requests will be considered according to applicable Nigerian privacy requirements.
20. GDPR and UK GDPR Requests
Where the EU GDPR or UK GDPR applies, eligible individuals may have rights including:
- Erasure
- Rectification
- Restriction
- Objection
- Data portability
- Withdrawal of consent
These rights are subject to applicable legal conditions and exceptions.
21. Request Security
We may reject or further verify requests that appear:
- Fraudulent
- Unauthorized
- Abusive
- Intended to access another person’s data
- Unable to be reasonably verified
These measures help protect customer information from unauthorized deletion or disclosure.
22. Policy Updates
We may revise this policy when our account systems, privacy practices, business operations, or applicable laws change.
The latest version will be published on VIBETHEORY.AFRICA with an updated Last Updated date.
